The First Part of the Great Saga from Northern Jutland. Anita, 63, has poor mobility and has just been fired from her activation program. Her unemployed son Lars, 44, lives at home and still hasn’t gotten over the death of their dog, Gnags. Anita owes money to both the bank and the blacksmith and can no longer pay her bills. That’s when the idea comes to her: What if she sells all the many things that are just lying around, and pays off everything that way? But then Anita’s sister, Beate, shows up. Just for a night or two. But Beate isn’t going anywhere, and when she starts flirting with Anita’s neighbor, John, while the homeless peddler Ester barges in with a boogie trailer, the situation escalates.
