Meyer, Daniel J.

Daniel J. Meyer studied Theatre Arts at COSATYC/ANDAMIO 90, specialising in theatre direction and acting. He has lived in Barcelona for 20 years, where he has developed his professional career.

He is the author of several plays, notably including A.K.A (Also Known As), translated into 9 languages, premiered in several countries (Argentina, Greece and Finland, among others), published (in Catalan, Spanish and German) and multi-awarded (MAX and Butaca prizes in Catalonia, Florencio in Uruguay, Hugo in Argentina, etc). He has also premiered UPPGIVENHET (TNC, 2023), SCRATCH (La Villarroel, 2023), Shoà and Llegat, among others. Equally, he has written and directed all the plays of Descartable Teatre.

In 2024, he won the Eduard Escalante Theatre Prize for the play I ara què farem?

He has worked with companies as a director, playwright or advisor and in the directing department for several large-format musicals. In the teaching field, he has given classes all around the territory.

He is a founding partner of the production company Aka Teatro.
