Hanna Ojala's (b. 1973) works combine history and the present into vivid, theatrical wholes. Ojala, who is also a distinguished director, often draws on Finnish history and literature in her works, finding people and stories that are alive and still resonate today. Ojala's vision has a strong social undertone, and her works often focus on strong, independent women.

Ojala has studied at the Theatre Academy and Manchester School of Theatre. He has also worked as an actor and guest director in numerous Finnish theatres.
