REA.D Festival brings international contemporary plays to Helsinki, giving audiences a chance to discover writing rarely seen on Finnish stages. Through staged readings, actors and directors bring these texts to life with simple staging, leaving space for the writing, the performances and the audience’s imagination.
This year’s festival takes place from October 8 to 10 and will feature, among other things, a full-scale Finnish-language production of Pier Lorenzo Pisano’s play *Hiili* (Carbon), as well as English-language staged readings of Alice Birch’s *BLANK* and Agoostina Luz López’s *Los Milagros* (The Miracles).
