26.11.2025

Ari-Pekka Lahti's adaptation of Aleksi Suomesta (Aleksi From Finland) by Tuomas Kyrö can be currently seen at Helsinki City Theatre, in a production directed by Tuomas Rinta-Panttila. The play tells the true story of Aleksi Lysander, who joined the French Foreign Legion in the age of 18, and fought later in Ukraine, where he was killed in 2024.

Reviewer Rosanna Liuski commends the play for its moving depiction of PTSD, its willingness to ask big questions about human psyche and its immersive sound design. The play will run at Helsinki City Theatre until March 14th, 2026.
